Each month, a handful of Scottish Rite Masons come together to take a deeper look into the Degrees of the Rite and search for ways of implementing in our own lives, the wisdom and enlightenment found therein. Whether you are interested in the history, symbolism, spiritual lessons, or other aspects of our Degrees, this is your opportunity to explore and discuss what you have found, or what you are looking for, with brothers sharing those interests.
We meet on the first Monday of each month at the Scottish Rite Temple. While casual, we attempt to begin our meetings by 7:00 p.m., and typically adjourn around 8:30. Those interested and able often reconvene at a local restaurant. You are encouraged to read A Bridge to Light and/or Scottish Rite Ritual Monitor & Guide for background information on the current Degree. As you attend, you will learn where to find new resources for the Degrees, but no prior knowledge or expertise is needed to attend.

Houston Lodge #1189 Called meeting
The Houston Scottish Rite and Jacques DeMolay Lodge are pairing up and offering a new study group that will meet on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. We will gather at the Houston Scottish Rite, 201 W. Belfort Street, Houston, Texas at 10:00 a.m. We will begin with a “Round Robin” question and answers session in the dining area. Next we will move to the Lodge room and open one of the degrees, confer the degree and close the Lodge. We will have volunteers fill the various parts. We will work on different degrees at each meeting. The session will end at noon.
The class is designed to assist Brothers wanting to “brush up” for their certificate exam, prepare to be examined to hold an elected Lodge office or learn a particular part to participate in a degree. The group is not limited to Master Masons. However, it is not designed for Brothers to learn their proficiency examination.
