On Monday, March 26, the Scottish Rite Masonic Center was vandalized. At roughly 2:30 pm an unidentified male approached the front of the building and painted “Sorcery Satan 666.” He then continued around to the back door and added more graffiti. The vandalism was quickly discovered and was covered over by Bro. Thad Miner. Bro. Miner’s repairs were temporary in nature and bids are being solicited for more permanent repairs. Permanent removal of graffiti, especially on brick and stone surfaces such as those on the front of the building, are difficult to achieve and quite costly. All of the bids received to date have exceeded considerably more than one thousand dollars.
The Houston Police Department was notified of the crime and is attempting to apprehend the criminal responsible for the attack.
