Please know that Houston Scottish Rite takes the related risks of this virus seriously.  The safety of our membership, tenants, employees, vendors and all visitors is our top priority.

The Houston Scottish Rite building will remain open and meetings will be held as scheduled at this time.  Please know that it is your decision, a personal choice, whether or not to attend Houston Scottish Rite meetings or other meetings scheduled in the building.  If you are sick or running a fever, please stay home.

We will update you with any changes.

Please practice healthy hygiene habits to help prevent the spread of illness or germs by washing your hands frequently, covering your cough or sneeze, avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth and staying home if you are sick.

When you use a tissue, throw it in the trash and wash your hands.  Consider refraining from using handkerchiefs as tissues.

As you may be aware, the City of Houston issued an Emergency Health Declaration and Harris County issued a Disaster Declaration on March 11, 2020.  These declarations are formal statements by local leaders to trigger extra resources.

Officials said these declarations do not mean it’s time to panic and the Greater Houston area is not shutting down.

The emergency declaration for Houston began at the end of the day Wednesday, March 11 and will last for at least seven days.  Houston City Council will meet on the seventh day to see if the declaration needs to be extended.
