Philanthropic Endeavors
Almoner's Fund
Charity is the great virtue of mankind. The Scottish Rite practices this virtue through our Almoner’s Fund. At each meeting of the Bodies, in the annual dues statement, and through bequests and other gifts, the Almoner’s Fund is remembered.
Monies collected go directly to those who are in real distress. If you wish to donate, please contact our Almoner.

Scottish Rite Learning Center
Houston RiteCare’s goal is to help children in our area with speech, language, or learning disabilities take the first step toward achieving academic success.    Our programs are free of charge without regard to race, creed or color. This year we are supporting five programs in the Greater Houston area that have goals closely aligned with our own, and have proven track records of success. The services provided to the children are delivered by highly trained professionals in a caring and compassionate way.

HSR Benefactor Program
The HSR Benefactor Program is designed to provide a way for members and friends to help contribute to the wellbeing of the Houston Scottish Rite. We have partnered with PayPal to setup a monthly subscription that will provide general fund donations to the Houston Scottish Rite. Setup is quick and simple and can be used with any and all of the payment mechanisms supported by PayPal. To get started, choose your level of donation and click the subscribe button below.
Please become a contributor to the Houston Scottish Rite Benefactor Program by signing up to donate monthly to the General Fund of the Valley through the PayPal program by making donations of $5, $10, or $20.
Your donations allow this Valley to present programs such as the current well received Safety Training courses, coming Blood Drive, and the annual Stocking Stuffer Christmas Program.  Help us continue to provide quality programming to both freemasons and the community going forward.
Though our facility is new and in excellent condition, maintenance, upkeep, and improvements over the coming years will be much easier to budget if we prepare for them on an ongoing basis.  To that end, ongoing work toward the completion of our parking facilities is currently in process.
Your contributions are much appreciated and insure our strong presence in freemasonry and the community going forward.

Scottish Rite Dormitory - University of Texas
Scottish Rite Educational Association of Texas
Since 1922, The Scottish Rite Dormitory, adjacent to the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, have served as the home-away-from-home for thousands of daughters of Masons, as well as young women sponsored without financial obligation by Texas Blue Lodge Masons. The modern, yet gracious facilities speak well of Texas Scottish Rite dedication to higher education. The Scottish Rite Dormitory was the first dormitory on the University of Texas campus built exclusively for women.

Houston Scottish Rite Library and Museum
The Scottish Rite Foundation of Texas was established in 1955 to provide educational scholarships for worthy graduate students in the field of government service. It continued its involvement in the granting of scholarships and fellowships until 1980 when the Scottish Rite Educational and Fellowship Program of Texas was established. Since 1980, the Scottish Rite Foundation of Texas has elected to dedicate its resources toward the operation, maintenance and administration of the Lee Lockwood Scottish Rite Library and Museum in Waco, Texas.
Locally, the Scottish Rite Masons of Houston erected their own library and museum  to provide a location for the preservation of historical records, a museum for the display and preservation of artifacts, a library for scholarly study and research, and an education facility to acquaint the general public with Freemasonry, its principles and programs. Books that are located in the Burnett Reading Room and Lending Library are available for loan to members of the Houston Scottish Rite. The library and museum's catalog contains nearly 500 artifacts in it's collection. The library catalog alone contains information on nearly 8,000 volumes of books, periodicals, and other bound, printed material.
